Launch Party Review by Naj Modak ECE Television

DJ MIKE COSFORD
Truly a Success!!!

The Krisp Fm launch party which took place on Friday night the 5th of May 2000 was prone to a few teething problems with some local frequency trying to gatecrash our output, karaoke style, but what great party is really a party without its initial glitches.

DETAILS

The students at Grimsby College long complained about not having a decent Student Union Bar.

Anyone saw the "Mars Bar," (the original student bar) as it was adequately nicknamed will know the complaints were fully justified.

Grimsby students were fed up hearing that DJ's like Grooverider and Tall Paul were appearing over the water in Hull and surrounding areas.

Little over a year ago these nags were answered in the shape of the Drum Bar. A luxurious new bar that has gone on to win awards for architecture.

Since the opening of the bar things haven't gone 100% to plan. Dodgy TV screens and general underachievement has seen the place mostly empty despite the students envigour to have the place built. That's all about to end.

On Friday 5th May you will see the Drum Bar as you have never seen it before. Krisp fm have gone to extreme measures to ensure that this is a night to remember.

Instead of the Drum closing at 11.45 we'll be kicking it till 1 am. There will be cheap drinks all night.

JUDGING DJ'S

Get set for the biggest party of the year. It's not often that many top DJ's grace our small fishing port, but Krisp fm are bringing, for your listening pleasure two very high profile DJ's.

Mike Cosford is one of the biggest names in the House DJ's circuit. Mike will be the special guest judge for the Battle of the DJ competition. He'll also be playing a one hour set at the end of the night.

Terry De Ja Vu is well know on these shores but this is the first time he will be appearing at the Drum Bar. Terry will be playing a warm up set early on before the competition starts.

COMPETITION

Here's how it's gonna go: 5 DJ's will each play a 45 minute set. Based on crowd reaction and mixing skills, Judge Mike Cosford will then pick one winner, who will be named as the Krispiest DJ and awarded a slot on the Saturday Sessions on Krisp 87.7 fm.

PERFORMING DJ'S

IAN Grimsby College student, has played at The Baton Rouge & Freedom. Specialises in House and Dance. Chances - Excellent.
